John R. McCoy is the executive director of Alumni Relations. Before joining UCSF, John managed the Alumni Relations and Annual Fund program at UC Law SF where he was the senior director of alumni engagement. He is native to the Bay Area (Contra Costa County) and has spent his career overseeing community outreach and philanthropic initiatives on behalf of local and national nonprofit organizations, including Holy Names University (Oakland, Calif.), Washington Hospital Healthcare System (Fremont, Calif.), and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from UC Davis and an MBA from Holy Names University.

Katie Maloney is the senior director of Alumni Relations. She works with the School of Medicine and coordinates department operations. Prior to joining UCSF, Katie spent eight years at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) overseeing the Parents Association and Student/Alumni Relations efforts for the MIT Alumni Association. She has also worked in development/alumni relations at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Marymount University. She holds a M.Ed. from the University of Georgia and a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland.

Alfred Magallanes

Alfred Magallanes is a director of Alumni Relations, working with the School of Dentistry and School of Nursing. Alfred’s career spans 15 years in higher education, with experience in Student Affairs, Alumni Relations, and Development. He joins us from the University of Southern California (USC), where he led the alumni relations and annual giving program for the School of Dramatic Arts. Alfred earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Cal Poly Pomona and a master’s degree in higher education (with a concentration in student development and counseling) from Cal State Fullerton. He is a Southern California native and enjoys California's cultural diversity, eco-friendly atmosphere, and the state's urban and suburban arts scenes.  

LeeAnn Mutchler

LeeAnn Mutchler is a director of Alumni Relations, working with the School of Pharmacy and Graduate Division. Before coming to UCSF, she spent six years at the Chicago Booth School of Business in alumni relations for the West Coast and Latin America, headed sales for a mentoring software startup, and held various roles in career development and executive education at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain. LeeAnn is a multilingual travel enthusiast who loves to write comedy, cook, and sing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and is originally from Kansas City, Mo.

Nancy Knowles

Nancy Knowles is the assistant director of Alumni Relations. She manages events for the Alumni Relations team in addition to other alumni-enrichment projects at UCSF. Before joining this team, Nancy worked at Marin General Hospital and Novato Community Hospital as well as in the UCSF Department of Orthopaedic Surgery managing events, coordinating websites, and handling communications. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mills College.

Louis Gutierrez

Louis Gutierrez is the alumni relations manager for our “alumni-like” constituents. He manages both the Emeriti Faculty and Retirees Associations, and he oversees the alumni weekend program for Physical Therapy. A Southern Californian native from Orange County and a graduate of California State University, Long Beach, Louis’ wide range of experiences includes manager for a facilities management company and director of administration for a software startup. Prior to working for UCSF, Louis worked in the baking and pastry department of a San Francisco Michelin-rated restaurant.

Stephanie Yee

Stephanie Yee is the alumni engagement coordinator and is involved in enriching the alumni experience through tailored communications, programs, events, and services from UCSF. Before joining UCSF’s Alumni Relations team, Stephanie supported the UCSF Adult Hemophilia Treatment Center after working a few years in career development and student services at other universities.

Jenna Ingalls

Jenna Ingalls is the new director of alumni annual giving. She works with alumni to support students and programs at UCSF philanthropically. Before joining UCSF, Jenna was the director of annual giving at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, as well as at UC Law SF. A UC alumna (UC Berkeley bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD in German Studies) herself, Jenna loves working with alumni to support UC. She grew up in Fresno.

Kevin Hall

Kevin Hall is the associate director of alumni annual giving and manages fundraising efforts targeting alumni, resident alumni, and graduates across UCSF's professional schools. As part of the Alumni Annual Giving program, Kevin's primary focus is data, reporting, direct mail, and email marketing. Before joining UCSF’s Annual and Special Giving team, Kevin worked in various development capacities at St. John Church (Richmond, Calif.), Glide Foundation, Cal Alumni Association, and UC Berkeley. He also worked in the corporate sector at the Raymond Handling Corporation and The Body Shop Inc. In addition to studying business administration at San Francisco State University, Kevin is an award-winning web and graphic designer and musician. 

Genevieve Ortilla

Genevieve works with volunteer leaders and reunion classes to support students and programs at UCSF philanthropically. Before joining UCSF, she was the volunteer program manager at SMART, a nonprofit organization in San Francisco committed to college access for all. A UC Santa Cruz alumna (bachelor's degree in history), she is deeply committed to building strong community and relationships.
