Antonio Ragadio, DDS ’80 : Focusing on the underserved

As a student at UCSF School of Dentistry, Antonio helped with outreach and recruitment of minority students to UCSF.

He has continued that good work throughout his career. He currently maintains a dental practice in an underserved area of San Francisco with his wife and fellow graduate student, Delia Ragadio, DDS ’80. A faculty member at UCSF for more than 20 years, Antonio is a professor of Preventive and Restorative Dental Science.

A former Dental Alumni Association (DAA) president, Antonio never stops serving his community. He is currently an active member of the DAA Executive Council and founder and faculty adviser of the Filipino Dental Student Coalition. He is the recipient of numerous “excellence in teaching” awards and a member of the American College of Dentists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Delta Sigma Delta, Filipino Dental Practitioners Inc., San Francisco Dental Society, California Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. 

In 2003, he received an excellence in teaching award from UCSF School of Dentistry. More recently, he received the 2017 Medal of Honor from the UCSF Dental Alumni Association.
