Join the UCSF Emeriti Faculty Association (UCSF EFA) for a virtual talk entitled “COVID-19: What Lessons Were Learned and What Changes Will Endure?” by guest speaker, Robert Wachter, MD.

Bob Wachter, MD, resident alum, is chair of the UCSF Department of Medicine, the Holly Smith Distinguished Professor in Science and Medicine, and the Lynne and Marc Benioff Professor in Hospital Medicine. Dr. Wachter is author of more than 250 articles and six books and is a frequent contributor to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He coined the term “hospitalist” in 1996 and is often referred to as the father of the hospitalist field. In 2016, he chaired a blue-ribbon commission advising England’s National Health Service on its digital strategy.

From 2020-21, his tweets (@Bob_Wachter) on COVID-19 have been viewed more than 200 million times by 170,000 followers and have served as a trusted source of information on the clinical, public health, and policy issues surrounding the pandemic. He has also served as the interim host of the COVID-19 podcast “In the Bubble,” which is downloaded about one million times each month.
