Yerba Buena Lane
between 3rd and 4th Streets
San Francisco, CA
United States

Time: 10:15 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Price: $12 (+ optional tip)

Please join us for a fascinating look at the changes "South of The Slot," as long-time San Franciscans say. (The "Slot" was the iron cable car track that went through the center of Market Street.)

Our guide will discuss SOMA history as we zigzag along main streets and back alleys, taking in facades, public art, and the Yerba Buena Gardens. We'll compare Classical Revival, modern, postmodern and other architectural styles. Highlights of the tour include the 1926 Pacific Telephone building on New Montgomery, the SF MOMA, the new Salesforce Tower, and ongoing construction.

The tour does not include the Palace Hotel, but if you have not walked through it recently, it's a memorable conclusion to our stroll.

We'll meet at 10:15 a.m. on the west side of the Jewish Contemporary Museum (between Market and Mission Street) at the Big Blue Cube.
