Join us and Stuart Eisendrath, MD, resident alum, professor emeritus of psychiatry at the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences and former director of the UCSF Depression Center, for an online presentation about harnessing the power of mindfulness meditation to heal depression.

Although antidepressants are the most common form of depression treatment, they fail to lead to full recovery for many people. Mindfulness meditation is an ancient practice that has increasingly been found to have powerful anti-anxiety and anti-depression effects. Research has shown that it can lead to decreased depression, reduced anxiety, and rumination while enhancing self-compassion. Brain research investigating mindfulness has shown that it can have significant brain effects after eight weeks of training. This talk will examine the UCSF experience with mindfulness in the treatment of clinical depression.
