Please join us and our guest speaker, Dr. Melvin Cheitlin, who will present on “Sudden Cardiac Death in Young Athletes: Can It Be Prevented?”
The sudden death of a young person during or shortly after athletic activity is shocking even though it is relatively rare. We will examine both the incidence and the known causes of sudden death in young athletes as well as discuss our ability to identify people at risk by history, physical examination, or special technical means (ECG or MRI) and the economic costs in light of the rarity of the problem. Although rare, the death of a young person on the athletic field often makes newspaper headlines and stimulates great parental anxiety.
CE credits are available. Details are included on the RSVP form.
