The US has experienced nursing shortages periodically since the early 1900s. Multiple factors, from world wars to economic recessions, led to each shortage. But the magnitude of the current nursing shortage, announced in 2012 and amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic, is greater than ever before. Join UCSF for a dynamic discussion about the factors contributing to the nursing shortage, and explore how individuals and health care organizations are navigating through the crisis.
