For more than 40 years, the San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA)’s Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) Program has promoted healing and connection by sharing the comfort of companion animals with individuals facing mental, physical, or educational challenges. Our animal ambassadors reduce travel stress, support literacy in schools and libraries, and bring therapeutic companionship to hospitals, nursing homes, psychiatric and youth facilities throughout San Francisco.
Join us for a conversation with volunteer engagement coordinator Tina Mitchell as she shares about different opportunities. Not only has she worked with the SFSPCA for 10 years and has been overseeing the AAT program since 2019, but she also evaluates and supports 171 volunteers and 170 visit locations.
UCSF is committed to making its facilities, activities, and events accessible. To request a reasonable accommodation for this event, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible.
